BEFORE //
Nash’s room was originally a bright blue eyesore that resembled a gum ball and we needed to change it asap!
PROGRESS //
When you aren’t a math superstar, slat statement walls can be a little tricky to pull off - but rest assured it can still be done. I created the mountain slats by simply taping them up to the wall to map out what I wanted to do, and then measuring and cutting them. And sometimes, re-measuring and re-cutting them. Again if you’re not good at math, it’s a bit of a challenge, but so rewarding once it’s all done.
And the saying really is true, “measure twice and cut once!”
AFTER //
We took Nash’s blue room and painted the one wall a sage green and all the other three walls a light beige. The mountain statement wall really brought everything all together and wasn’t too over the top. Sometimes a simple statement is all you need to really make an impact.
Most of the decor I found was from local stores in the Calgary and Airdrie area, so that added a nice homey feeling to the room. Some of the items I bought, like Elliot the moose on the wall and floor, were found on Amazon - as well as the woodland crib sheet.
